Diagnostics come first

Every plan starts with measurements. Corneal topography and tomography map the shape of the cornea, pachymetry measures its thickness, OCT images the macula, and a dilated fundus exam checks the back of the eye. Tear-film testing helps us match the procedure to your dryness risk. These results decide candidacy; the technology follows from them.

Matched, not upsold

We recommend a platform because it fits your eyes, and your written quote says which one you are getting.

Technology questions

Which technology will I get?
Your surgeon recommends a platform after your scans. Your written plan names the laser or lens being used, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
Is newer always better?
Not always. The best technology is the one that fits your cornea, prescription, and goals. Sometimes that is the newest platform; sometimes it is a proven one.
Does the technology change the price?
It can. For example, LASIK is $2,250 to $2,900 per eye depending on technology. See the procedure costs page.
What scans happen at a full exam?
The full new-patient exam ($395) includes a fundus exam, OCT of the macula, pachymetry, and corneal topography, plus a workup of your main concern.
