By accessing or using our website (khannainstitute.com), the “Guru” AI chat and voice assistant, our appointment-request or consultation forms, or our social-media presence (including Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, and Reddit), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use these services.
2. Educational information only — not medical advice
The website, Guru AI chat and voice assistant, appointment-request forms, and our social-media channels provide general educational information about vision care and related topics. They do not:
- Provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations personalized to you
- Create a doctor–patient relationship
- Replace an in-person or telehealth evaluation by a licensed clinician
Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider with any questions about a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read or heard through our website, Guru, forms, or social channels.
3. Do not submit medical records or PHI through chat, voice, or social channels
Do not submit medical records, prescriptions, imaging, lab results, or other personal health information (PHI) through Guru chat, voice sessions, social-media comments or messages, or similar public or semi-public channels. Use only the secure processes our practice provides for clinical records. If you include sensitive health details in chat, voice, or social channels, you do so at your own risk.
4. Appointment and consultation requests
Submitting an appointment, consultation, or callback request online (including through forms, chat, or voice) is a request only. It is not a confirmed appointment until our staff confirm the date, time, and location with you. We may contact you by phone, email, or text using the information you provide, subject to any consent you give and applicable law.
5. AI-generated responses (Guru)
Guru may generate answers using artificial intelligence and reviewed educational content. Accuracy is not guaranteed. Responses are intended as general information, not personalized clinical advice. They may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Do not rely on Guru for emergency care, diagnosis, or treatment decisions.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Misuse the website, Guru, forms, or social channels (including fraud, harassment, or illegal activity)
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract content or data without our prior written permission
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems belonging to other people or to Khanna Vision Institute without authorization
- Interfere with the security, availability, or integrity of our services
- Use automated bots or scripts in a way that overloads or disrupts our systems
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.
7. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise noted, the website content, branding, logos, text, graphics, and software are owned by Khanna Vision Institute or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may view and print materials for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent, except as allowed by law.
8. Third-party services
Our services may involve or link to third-party platforms and tools, including (without limitation) Meta/Facebook and Instagram, Bluesky, Reddit, Vapi (voice), and Bitrix24. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or practices. Your use of those services is at your own risk.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website, Guru, forms, and related online channels are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Khanna Vision Institute and its owners, clinicians, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the website, Guru, forms, or social channels. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us specifically for the online service giving rise to the claim in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100), except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited under California or other applicable law.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any mandatory consumer protections, courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the services, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
