How is CTAK different from Intacs or ring segments? +

Intacs are plastic rings in fixed sizes - like buying shoes that "sort of" fit. CTAK uses actual human corneal tissue custom-cut to YOUR exact corneal shape. Is there really no rejection risk? +

Correct! The tissue is gamma-irradiated, which removes ALL donor cells and DNA. What's left is pure collagen structure - like scaffolding. Your immune system doesn't recognize it as foreign because there's nothing to reject. This is completely different from a transplant which uses living tissue.

Can CTAK help if I have severe keratoconus? +
