SMILE Pro Christmas Gift for Encino & Sherman Oaks
Encino and Sherman Oaks sit right in the middle of Khanna Vision Institute's two offices, which gives Valley residents a choice most patients do not have. Over the Sepulveda Pass is Beverly Hills; west on the 101 is Westlake Village. Picking the right one depends on where you work, when you drive and who is taking you home on treatment day.
Option one: over the hill
The Beverly Hills office at 9100 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 265 East is roughly 10 miles from Ventura and Sepulveda. The 405 through the pass is famous for a reason, so many Valley patients take Beverly Glen or Coldwater Canyon instead. Parking is validated in the building. If you already commute to the Westside, an appointment before or after work is easy.
Option two: west on the 101
The Westlake Village office at 31824 Village Center Rd, Suite F is about 15 to 20 miles west, often a faster drive than the pass against traffic, and it has a free lot. Patients who live in Encino west of the 405, or who work from home, often prefer it.
Ventura Boulevard days
Life in the South Valley is lived along Ventura Boulevard: coffee at a corner cafe, a workout, an afternoon at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, a walk around Lake Balboa in the Sepulveda Basin. Contact lenses dry out in the Valley heat, which often runs ten degrees warmer than the coast. Summer afternoons are when many Valley residents decide they are done with lenses.
Why SMILE Pro, and why not
SMILE Pro uses the ZEISS VISUMAX 800 laser to create a lenticule within the cornea, removed through a small opening without a flap. It treats eligible nearsightedness, with or without astigmatism, in adults 22 and older. The consult may also point toward LASIK, EVO ICL, ASA or, for patients whose reading vision is changing, PIE. Rajesh Khanna, MD has more than 25 years of experience and 25,000+ procedures, and the recommendation follows the measurements. Results vary from person to person.
Heat, pools and recovery
Valley backyards mean pools. After SMILE Pro, swimming and hot tubs wait about 2 to 3 weeks until your surgeon clears you. Dusty Santa Ana days call for sunglasses. Many Encino and Sherman Oaks patients schedule treatment in winter, when the pool is closed anyway.
Before your measurements
Soft contacts need to stay out for a period before testing, and the team will give you the exact window. Bring your glasses and contact lens prescription. If you have older prescriptions from a Ventura Boulevard optometrist, bring those too; they help confirm your numbers are stable.
What it costs
SMILE Pro is $150 per eye per month for 24 months for qualified applicants, through financing partners such as CareCredit, Alphaeon Credit or Cherry. The lender sets approval, APR and terms, not Khanna Vision Institute. Any gift certificate can be applied to that amount. More is on the financing options page.
A gift for someone in the Valley
Relatives and friends sometimes buy a gift certificate toward SMILE Pro, in an amount they choose, as a holiday present. It is a personal gift, not a promotion from Khanna Vision Institute. Start with a Free VIP consult, in office and virtually, at whichever office is easier to reach.
