Preoperative LASIK Instructions
Preparation for LASIK Surgery
- Contact Lens Removal: Stop wearing soft lenses at least 3-7 days before your surgery. Hard or gas permeable lenses must be removed 3-4 weeks prior. We will provide personalized guidance.
- Avoid Fragrance: On surgery day, do not wear perfumes, scented lotions, cologne, or aftershave. These can interfere with UV laser transmission.
- Hair & Deodorant: You may wash your hair and use roll-on deodorant, but avoid anything scented.
- Makeup Removal: Remove all facial and eye makeup the night before. Do not wear any makeup on the day of surgery.
- Light Meal: Eat a light meal before surgery. Continue your regular medications unless advised otherwise.
- No Smoking: Do not smoke on the day of your procedure.
- No Alcohol: Avoid alcoholic beverages on surgery day.
- Transportation: Arrange for someone to drive you to and from the center. They may also need to drive you for your 1-day follow-up.
- Aftercare Kit: You will receive an aftercare kit and protective eye gear post-surgery.
- Post-Op Appointment: Your 1-day follow-up time will be provided on surgery day.
- Artificial Tears: Purchase a 1-month supply of preservative-free artificial tears (Refresh Plus, Systane, Blink, or Optive).
- Bring Eye Drops: Carry all your prescribed drops with you to the surgery.
We are committed to making your laser vision correction experience smooth and comfortable.
LASIK Eye Drop Instructions
Antibiotic Eye Drops: Start using these one day before surgery. Apply 1 drop in each eye 4 times daily — morning, noon, evening, and bedtime.
