Dr. Mike Liu is happy to be joining the Khanna Institute at Corona. At the Khanna Institute, we strive to be a place where patients go for world-class eye care, but we also strive to be a place where patients feel comfortable and feel taken care of. Patient care has always been the top priority for Dr. Liu and he looks forward to meeting your eye care needs.
Raised in Southern California, Dr. Liu graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine in 2003. He then completed his internship in Preliminary Medicine at UC Irvine, and completed his residency training in ophthalmology at New York Medical College, where he also served as chief resident.
Dr. Liu specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology and has been trained in the latest phacoemulsification techniques for cataract surgery, including the horizontal quick chop technique. He also specializes in treatment of patients with glaucoma, diabetes, dry eyes, refractive error, and various other ophthalmic conditions.
Dr. Liu has a passion for helping those in developing countries where there may not be access to adequate eye care. Thus, he has spent time on medical missions to Nicaragua and Kenya. He is also an active leader at his church, and his hobbies include playing the violin and guitar. Dr. Liu is an avid amateur photographer and currently sells his photos on multiple stock photography websites. Dr. Liu is also proficient in medical Spanish and fluent in Mandarin.
