Los Angeles Custom Lasik has reached a new level of personalization. In 2017 we have more choices of sophisticated technology than ever before. Idesign wavescan from Johnson and Johnson is leading the brigade. Catz from Nidek and Contoura from Alcon are on its heels.
Let us look at the differences in the three and discover why idesign may be the best for your eyes. It is important to note that we are one of the few practices in California to offer both I Design and Topography guided lasik eye surgery.
Topography guided lasik eye surgery concentrates on improving the imperfections of the cornea. It ignores the anomalies arising from within the eye. Even the refraction is not measured but has to be manually entered. It is good for specific cases where the cornea is asymmetrically misshapen.
I design measures and rectifies all the imperfections of the eye. Spectacles treat only lower order anomalies. Idesign automatically measures both lower and higher order aberrations. It is able to reduce these by precise treatment. The best part is that chances of human error are almost eliminated. The wavescan studio also measures the refraction of the eye. It also records the uniqueness of the colored part of the eye. When laser is focussed on the eye, the laser can only work if it correctly recognizes the same pattern. It avoids treating the incorrect person or wrong eye. The refraction is transferred from the wavescan studio to the laser. Incorrect data entry like 180 instead of 18 etc are eliminates.
We offer many kinds of lasik eye surgery. Topography guided as well as I design wavefront. For the various reasons listed above our research has shown idesign wavescan lasik to be more safer and precise. Each eye is unique. We would offer yo both.
