CK – Conductive Keratoplasty Los Angeles

Serving Beverly Hills, California and Surrounding Communities

An exciting new refractive surgery procedure called Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) is a laserless way to correct vision in patients who have hyperopia (farsightedness) or presbyopia (poor vision due to aging). With CK, you can enhance your near vision while maintaining good distance vision, reducing your need for reading glasses. CK is the first non-laser vision procedure for people over the age of 40. It only takes minutes per eye, with no cutting and a quick healing time.

CK corrects your refractive error by using radio frequency energy to steepen the cornea, allowing light to focus properly on your retina. After a successful CK procedure, you will be able to read the newspaper, books, menus, and other fine print without any effort.

If you have difficulty focusing on close objects, and you are tired of the hassle of reading glasses or bifocals, CK may be the solution you’ve been looking for.

Near Vision CK/Blended Vision

NearVision CK , also referred to as “Blended Vision“, can treat presbyopia by performing the CK technique on one eye. Near Vision CK improves your ability to focus on near objects without dramatically affecting distance vision in the treated eye. The result is referred to as blended vision, because you use both eyes to see at all distances, and one eye is “multifocal”, giving you the ability to focus seamlessly between near and far distances.

In clinical trials for CK, 97% of patients reported 20/20 distance vision after the procedure and were able to read newspaper print.

Everything has its five minutes of fame. By 2014 Conductive Keratoplasty has fallen out of favor amongst refractive surgeons. It was found that the results did not last longer than a year or two. Wavefront optimized lasik can deliver more permanent results.
