Age Limitations and LASIK

As with many other parts of your body, your eyes continue developing through young adulthood. The shape of your cornea may change several times as you grow, even into your early twenties.

Due to this, LASIK is not available to people under the age of 18 in most circumstances and generally preferable after the age of 20. Of course, every situation is unique and, in some instances, Beverly Hills LASIK surgeon Dr. Rajesh Khanna may consider performing the procedure on an older teen. This is best determine by an experienced LASIK surgeon like Dr. Khanna and can be discussed in more detail during your initial consultation.

Upper Age Limitations

There are no upper age limitations on LASIK, but some common eye disorders may decrease your candidacy for the procedure. Much like LASIK for younger patients, this is a decision best made by Dr. Khanna during your LASIK evaluation. If LASIK is not the best solution for you, Dr. Khanna will be happy to discuss other options that may help improve your vision and reduce your dependency on prescription eyewear.

If you live in or around Beverly Hills, California and would like to learn if LASIK is right for you, please contact the Khanna Institute of LASIK & Refractive Surgery today to schedule an initial consultation.
