Setting: Dr. Khanna’s Eye Clinic

Act 1, Scene 1:

(The stage is set to resemble a doctor’s office. There is a large chair in the middle of the stage, with various eye equipment and charts on the walls. Samantha enters the stage, looking around the room nervously. Nurse Evelyn enters from the opposite side.)

Nurse Evelyn: Good morning, Samantha! How are you today?

Samantha: (Nervously) Oh, good morning, Nurse Evelyn. I’m doing okay, I guess. I’m just a bit nervous about this whole Lasik thing.

Nurse Evelyn: It’s completely normal to feel a bit nervous. But don’t worry, Dr. Khanna is one of the best in the field, and he’ll be able to answer all your questions and address your concerns.

(Samantha nods, still looking around the room. Dr. Khanna enters the stage with a warm smile on his face.)

Dr. Khanna: Good morning, Samantha! It’s a pleasure to meet you. I understand you’re here to learn more about Lasik eye surgery?

Samantha: (Nods) Yes, that’s right. I’ve been wearing glasses and contact lenses for years, and I’m tired of the hassle. But I’m also scared about the idea of surgery on my eyes.

Dr. Khanna: I completely understand your concerns, Samantha. Many patients are initially nervous about the idea of eye surgery. But let me assure you that Lasik is a safe and effective procedure that has helped millions of people achieve better vision. I’ll explain the process, and then we can discuss any concerns you might have.

Act 1, Scene 2:

(Dr. Khanna begins to explain the Lasik procedure using charts and models.)

Dr. Khanna: Lasik is a quick, minimally invasive procedure that reshapes the cornea to correct vision problems. It’s performed using a state-of-the-art laser, which allows for incredible precision and control. The entire surgery typically takes less than 10 minutes per eye, and most patients notice a significant improvement in their vision within just a few days.

Samantha: (Still nervous) But what about the risks? I’ve heard stories of people experiencing side effects or complications.

Dr. Khanna: Like any surgical procedure, there are some risks involved. However, the risks associated with Lasik are very low. Less than 1% of patients experience serious complications, and the vast majority of those are treatable. Common side effects, such as dry eyes and temporary visual disturbances, usually resolve on their own within a few weeks or months.

Act 1, Scene 3:

(Nurse Evelyn brings in a tablet and shows Samantha testimonials and before-and-after photos of past patients.)

Nurse Evelyn: Here are some testimonials from our past patients who have undergone Lasik. As you can see, many of them are thrilled with their results and have experienced a significant improvement in their quality of life.

Samantha: (Starting to feel reassured) Wow, these stories are really inspiring. It’s amazing to see how much of a difference this procedure can make.

Dr. Khanna: It truly is a life-changing procedure for many people. And remember, I’ll be there to support you every step of the way, from your initial consultation through your recovery.

Samantha: (Smiling) Thank you, Dr. Khanna. I think I’m ready to move forward with Lasik. I know I’m in good hands with you and your team.
